The Basics

WALKING IN

As many as 75% of our guests dine without a reservation. We may be small, but we alway have seats set aside for spontaneous diners.

In favorable weather, we often have sidewalk tables, which we save for walk-ins.

When there's a queue, our team will take a name and number, estimate the wait, and keep you up-to-date.


RESERVATIONS

All of the seats we reserve are available via Resy. Bookings are released at 11am, two weeks to the day.

JUST DRINKS?

All reservations are for dining, not just drinking. We can sometimes accommodate folks for just drinks on a walk-in basis, however priority will be given to those looking to enjoy a full meal.

NEED TO MAKE A CHANGE TO AN EXISTING RESERVATION? 

Resy makes it easy! Just log into your account and pull up your reservation — you'll see the option to cancel or change your booking. It's possible that the time you want isn't available, but all available times are listed on Resy. For day-of, last minute changes, text back to our confirmation texts!


CANCELLATION

MORE THAN A DAY IN ADVANCE?

You may cancel a reservation without penalty anytime up to 24 hours in advance of your reservation time. 

LESS THAN A DAY IN ADVANCE?

A $35 per person cancellation fee would be charged manually based on the following criteria:

SICK?

If it’s less than 24 hours before your reservation, and someone from your party has tested positive for COVID or is experiencing COVID like symptoms, no fee will be assessed when you cancel via Resy, provided you email our team at hello@happycookingnyc.com to let us know what’s happening.

BAD WEATHER?

If it’s less than 24 hours before your reservation and the weather sucks, no fee will be assessed so long as you cancel via Resy. This will not automatically trigger a charge. No additional communication is necessary in inclement weather - we’re always watching the skies!

RESERVATIONS TIPS

BE MINDFUL OF THE TIME! 

For dinner, we plan for 1.5 hours for reservations for 2 -3 guests and 2 hours for reservations for 4+

For brunch and lunch, we plan 1 hour for reservations for 2-3 guests and 1.5 hours for reservations for 4+

PARTY SIZE MATTERS!

We are a small restaurant with limited space for large parties, and we book out quickly! 

The maximum amount of guests can we can accommodate around a single table is six. We'd consider any larger party a private event. To learn more, please email hello@happycookingnyc.com.

NO RESERVATION, NO PROBLEM!

What you see on Resy is what we have available to reserve. 

The remainder of the seating is held for same day walk-ins.

If you're not seeing a reservation time that works for you; swing by during the service during which you'd like to dine and we'll get you situated.
